In a heartbreaking incident, the two-year-old dog named Nong Horm displayed remarkable loyalty as she valiantly defended her owner's family against a lethal threat. This loyal and pregnant pooch, carrying a precious cargo of ten puppies, was tragically discovered lifeless beside a four-foot-long venomous cobra in the front yard of their home in Pathum Thani, central Thailand. Nong Horm succumbed to the venomous bite inflicted by the 4ft-long monocolored cobra, which is renowned as one of the world's most dangerous snakes.

This family now bears the weight of sorrow as their beloved pit bull perished while courageously fending off a deadly cobra that sought to infiltrate their home. Despite being in the advanced stages of pregnancy, with around ten precious puppies in her womb, this loyal canine displayed unwavering bravery. Heartrending images depict owner Buncherd Praprom, 35, lying alongside one of the planet's most lethal serpents. The protective dog sustained injuries while combating the serpent, which possesses a potent venom capable of swiftly ending a life. The formidable venom could have easily claimed the dog's life within minutes. Owner Suriyon Chanthakhet, 51, shared that this devoted pet shared their abode and lived harmoniously with them.
He lamented, "Our beautiful dog lost her life while shielding us from the cobra. My heart aches, imagining the agony she must have endured."
Suriyon recounted how he had heard Nong Horm battling something near the front yard, but by the time he rushed outside, it was too late to rescue her from the cobra's clutches.
In a heartrending admission, Suriyon placed blame on himself for being unable to save Nong Horm and her unborn puppies. Tragically, the cobra also met its demise shortly thereafter. The family laid the snake to rest outside, while Nong Horm was interred in their backyard.
Suriyon further expressed, "Nong Horm was the finest pet our family has ever cared for. Her loyalty knew no bounds, evident in her selfless sacrifice for us."
The poignant incident underscores the indomitable bond between humans and dogs, a connection that has evolved over millennia. Archaeological findings have revealed that dogs were buried alongside human settlements, signifying the deep bond formed between man and canine.
